Yesterday was a fabulous day on Broadway for my brother’s Birthday! After watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade on TV, we discovered Priscilla Queen of the Desert and we knew we had to go! You can see Priscilla at the Thanksgiving day parade here:
The show was fantastic! The entire show we found ourselves with huge smiles on our faces and towards the end, we teared up a bit, but all good tears! The cast was incredible, the singers had amazing voices, and the costumes were breathtaking! At the end of the show, the audience had a nice surprise because there was a proposal by a man to a man. We are just thrilled that finally in New York anyone can get married and the fact that such a fabulous show is a hit on Broadway!
As you can imagine, this was a little confusing for my now, 7-year old brother that two men can be in love, but that is why we share everything with my brother and the fact that we had the opportunity to take him to Priscilla was not only fun for him, but it was also educational. It’s the 21st century, it’s about time that people start getting used to the fact that men can love each other, women can love each other, and both men and women can love each other!
So if you’re from New York or passing through, without a doubt, go see Priscilla! It’s fun, smart, and coming from a real New Yorker who’s seen many Broadway shows, it is one of the best broadway shows, I’ve seen!
The costumes were incredibly inspiring as well. Of course we had to look up who the costume designer and there were two: Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner. Everything was so colorful and bright, but all of the costumes also flattered everybody’s body, both ladies and ladies 😉
Here are some fantastic images I pulled up from Tim Chappel’s website:
So, yes, as I said, stop by New York and enjoy Priscilla the first chance you get! 🙂
Peace & Love,
